NARTREK Cadet Level 2

Welcome to Level 2 of NARTREK Cadet. Level 2 is a continuation of the building, launching and recovery skills you learned in Level 1. Upon completion of NARTREK Level 2 the cadet will receive a certificate. NARTREK Level 2 patches can be purchased upon packet submission and NARTREK Headquarters approval from the NAR store. Please review the following instructions & information to complete the packet.

• Level 1 rockets can be used to complete level 2 requirements for the duration options.
• The cadet should pay close attention to the required recovery device.
• All rockets must be prepared for launch by the Cadet.
• Flights must be launched and recovered successfully, failed launches must be repeated.
• All flights must be witnessed by an adult.
• A photo of the (single) rocket before or after flight must be included in the submitted packet.
• Duration options must use motors no larger than a “B” total impulse.
• All flights must occur after the submission and approval of NARTREK Level 1.

NARTREK Cadet Level 2 Requirements:

Complete three out of four:

• Option #1: Parachute duration: achieve a timed flight of at least 40 seconds with a "B" motor or less.
  
• Option #2: Streamer duration: achieve a timed flight of at least 20 seconds with a "B" motor or less.
  
• Option #3: Assemble a model with glider, or helicopter recovery, and successfully fly two times.
  
• Option #4: Assemble and fly a "D" engine model successfully.
