Purpose is to fly NRC events but other flights are welcome. Participants are responsible for payloads and altimeters.

ROCK’s monthly launch is held on the first Saturday of the month at the Barr Street Entrance of the Little Econ Trail in Oviedo, Florida. Please visit our web site to verify launch dates and times.

This model rocket launch is open to everyone. Beginners and families are welcome. There are no membership requirements or range fees. Reliable launch equipment and experienced mentors will be available. We humbly accept donation to help cover our field-use fees. There will be a debrief at Grumpy‘s Mexican Cafe immediately after the launch.

VAST will be holding a Sport Rocket Launch at the Jack Mountain Village site off of Route 220, 3 miles south of Monterey, Virginia. Range will be open from 11:00am to 4:00pm but is subject to change depending upon the weather and participation. Most flights take place between noon and 3:00pm and typically more flights take place during a Sport Launch than a Research Launch. All are invited to attend, watch and/or participate. HPR, sport and NRC contest launch sponsored by the Fox Valley Rocketeers. While we permit flights in any NRC event, we do not supply items like eggs, payloads, or altimeters. Contestants should bring their own. We run a “Misfire Alley” range, so please bring your own pad and launch system. We do supply a single HPR pad with a 1010 launch rail and launch system for HPR flights. High Power Waiver in effect to 6,000 AGL. The field supports up to Level 2 flights. All HPR flights require preflight inspection by the RSO. We do not have a motor vendor at our launches. Please contact us in advance if you need to do an NAR Level 1 or Level 2 Certification.

Mountaineer NRC Launch will be held on Thurs., Apr. 17 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., EST at the Louis Bennett Airfield in Jackson‘s Mill, WV. This event is being hosted by our family with limited equipment. The field has limitations, so only low power rockets should be flown. Restrooms are available on site. Please contact me if you plan to attend.

This event has been planned since most of the club will be in Cotton City for the weekend. All NRC events may be flown. Participants will be responsible for their own payload and altimeters. Eggs will be available. Sport flights will be allowed.

No taxes will be charged at our April sport launch. Open to all at Eggemeyer Field, 3 miles south of Wall, TX. We support launch of low power, mid-power, and high power rockets up to L motors. We provide launch pads with 1/8", 3/16”, and 1/4" rods and 1010 rails. Have FAA waiver up to 10,000 ft AGL. We now have a portable toilet on site. Always bring water & wear sunscreen. FSA conducts monthly NAR-sanctioned launches at Dyer Park in West Palm Beach. Launches take place on the last Saturday of the month, except for November & December when the launches are moved to the Saturday before Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is no park entry fee. NORG will be holding 4 events at the Gallows Hill Park in Salem, MA featuring night launch as follows: 1) Apr. 26 7:45-9:15 PM; 2) May 24 6:30-9:30 PM; 3) Aug. 16 7:45-9:15 PM; & 4) Sep. 13 5:30-8:30 PM. Only 2 events have daytime launch & all rain dates are next day (nite launch only!).

SCRA LAUNCH AT LUCERNE DRY LAKE BED: Sunday, April 27 2025. Additional dates may be announced via SCRA Web Group. It’s big, mostly empty & will accommodate launches up to the full NAR Model Rocket Safety Code All motors must be CA State Fire Marshal classified as a “Model Rocket Motor”! This is a VERY desolate location, so you will need to bring water & food. The winds can reach high levels by mid-morning, so launching should begin as early as possible. We will plan on being there by 7am. Use of a road map is always advised when driving in the desert and odometers vary, so mileage is approximate. Take I15 north to Bear Valley Road/Cutoff. Go east 13 miles until you reach route 18. Continue east on route 18 another 11.3 miles and then turn left (north) on route 247 (also known as Barstow Road). Continue north on route 247 for 3.9 miles, then turn left (west) onto the dry lake on the well used dirt road. We’ll be out in the middle (approx. 1 mile). **No High Power Rockets. Dates are subject to change or cancellation due to weather, other events or FAA emergencies.
